This is GreatThis book is a great blend of history, factoids and advice, covering a wide spectrum of fashion from the go-go boot to the corset.I have never discovered anything like this before and would deffinately recommend it to anyone interested in fashion, whether it is a fashion student or someone trying to improve the contents of their own closet.
I really love clothes
This book has given me a new perspective and puts a rich history into the things I wear everyday. A detailed clothing bible if you will, this book covers every type of fashion trend, including hot pants, all the way to every accesory or shoe one could want to know about. It gives hot new trends and old classic styles their names, talking about where things really originiated, making me feel more informed about fashion and even sound smarter! :) All in all this is a great book and a MUST have if you spend as much time as me choosing my outfit everyday!
Ehh...ok
This book as decent, it's great if you're looking to know types of pants or types of collars, but I was hoping to learn more. Most of it consisted of things anyone would know. A platform shoe, a sports bra, a vest. Simple articles of clothing people wear all the time made this book very generic and not very imformative to someone aspiring to learn more about fashion and what makes it work. However, the one feature I loved was where it described who made it to begin with, and who made it hot. If you're looking for fashion history this book could be quite useful. Good luck, I hope you find what you are looking for.

Great product!I love this item it keeps my bra straps from sliding down, my socks in place (no more bunching down my toes) my button shirt from gaping.And it last all day. I actually cut the strips in half so I get twice the amount. Its a must have. Just make sure ur skin is clean of lotion or oils b4 applying directly on the skin.

Life Savers
I absolutely would be lost without these handy strips. I've used them for several years and give them as little gifts for the holidays to other ladies. Of course they are great for those gaps in your button up shirts, but I've also used them for repairing hems when I'm not anywhere near a needle and thread,and even on a new pair of shoes that had slippery heels.

Names, Names, Names, dahlingI'm glad that I finally got the book after seeing Teri on the Oprah show and the Metro Channel. Her reporting genius and years of experience show as she single-handedly unveils this industry which too often tends to believe its own hype. It was especially interesting to read her accounts of the ways in which the homogenization of large American retail stores has bolstered designers' marketing and branding efforts and subsequently, and ironically, led to the death of fashion. This read was especially timely as I watch my hip trendy New Yorker friends spending $200 on banal denim pants in assorted hues. My only regret is that Teri never once conceded that designers are artists; her approach was strictly business and on those terms this book is brilliant.
Fashion books tend to be vapid. This book packs a wallop
Teri Agins did a terrific job with her book "The End of Fashion". The title sounds a bit fatalistic, but the content and tome is fantastic. I've always wanted to know the history, business practices, personality and profiles of accomplished designers and Teri Agins delivers all this beautifully. No malice is detected and Ms.Agins' professionalism is evident throughout. No catty swipes are made, even when she discusses Donna's exorbitant overhead and sample process or when she discusses Tommy's obsession with everything Ralph Lauren. Remember Ralph: imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. I'm so glad to know what really happened to Mossimo and Zoran. This book about fashion designers and the fashion industry is a great read. I highly recommend it to fashion and garment industry types as well as for the informed or curious customer.
A "Must Have" Book for Fashion Designers
I bought this book 2 years ago and I still read it over and over again. When you're in Fashion Business, you always want to know what others - "your competitors"- do at the same time. How they react to the same trends, how they manage their works, how they do their fashion shows, what they think of, etc. This book tells all the backstage, all the things about Fashion Designers, all you wanna know and things you'd never think of.
